About FreddyWare

The FreddyWare Solutions Enterprise Network is comprised of more than a dozen sites and services. Some of these sites and services are not for public use, and are limited to access by the most highly-placed administrators and partners only. However, many of our assets are public content/articles sites or informational developments.

Background

FreddyWare had not always been the FreddyWare Solutions Enterprise Network. In late 2003, the first product under the FreddyWare name was released - a customized browser called FreddyWare WowserBrowser. We have since then outlived this foolishness, and the organization has moved forward to more serious matters.

FreddyWare Solutions at that time delivered only simple things, such as free e-mail services (using a more basic version of the same technologies that now power Geekie.org Apps). It was also intended that the FreddyWare Forums (earlier-than-first-generation) would be developed to work in synch with FreddyWare Solutions to deliver hosting and advanced online services, but FreddyWare Solutions was disbanded.

FreddyWare Solutions became the new, modern, FreddyWare Solutions Enterprise Network, which now governs over 10 full-fledged sites/services (assets) that operate with some ties to each other.

Technologies That We Use

FreddyWare's sites and services are spread out over many servers. Geekie.org, a resource intensive site, has been placed on one of our two stable servers that will provide hosting in the future. StudyNucleus.org and StudyNucleus.info are on unrelated servers in case one or the other fails. Reseller accounts on cPanel 11 servers have been reserved for FreddyWare Web Services & PersonalLog, for FreddyWare Advertisements, and for other specialized services.

All FreddyWare assets run on Linux + Apache + MySQL servers, which are respected as one of the most popular and stable configurations.

The FreddyWare Solutions Enterprise Network embraces PHP + MySQL scripts that are open source in nature, and prefers software that is licensed under the GNU GPL or a Creative Commons license.

Current Goals

FreddyWare's aim isn't to generate profit for itself or for its administrators. Rather, the goal of this organization is to provide appreciable content and useful services that will benefit everyone - including consumers, partners, and ourselves.

The FreddyWare Web Services branch offers a number of suitable services that are free or cheap in nature.

Why use our services? We're not greedy... we're not evil... we're not anti-competitive... we're trustworthy.

Quotes

Don't be evil. The epitomy of corporate greed is represented by companies such as Microsoft. We will pursue a cooperative and fair path on which morally-correct decisions are encouraged. Profit will never drive us to immoral choices.
